Proven in its first two years as a thrilling spectacle the high speed race promises to be yet another success with a large entry as it has now been included as part of an Ulster series.

The SEAT Super 7 Criterium Series see races across Northern Ireland throughout the summer with the first in Newry on June 3rd and the final event run in the Titanic Quarter.

Run against the back drop of the historic walls of the City of Derry the event is a real challenge for even the strongest of riders.

Riders in Seat Super 7 Criterium are faced with climbing Ship Quay Street before the course allows them to grab a quick recovery on Ferryquay Street then turning and weaving around by the Millennium Forum, passing between the car parks and back around by the Foyleside Roundabout before the sharp left turn back to the start where they must endure yet another assault of the challenging climb – and this they will do 20 times every couple of minutes!

Last year’s winner Darnell Moore said it was one of the most exciting events he had ever done and he will be back to try and keep his crown, however local hopes will be with Foyle CC rider Ronan McLaughlin, fresh from a successful showing in the An Post Ras, as well as Ulster Junior Champion Ryan Reilly.

Everyone is encouraged to come out and see the up-close action with activities from 7pm on the evening commencing with a fun race from the Foyle Clubs Sprocket Rockets at Foyle Street, giving way to the support race at 7.30pm and the main race starting at 8pm. Road Closure commences at 6pm.
