Cyclist Aaron notches another Irish title

Aaron Swan claimed yet another All Ireland National title to his collection last week to end what has been a very busy and successful road season for the young Clough rider.

This time he won the gold medal in the U15 Time Trial Championships in Limerick.

Aaron explains: “I went into the championships in Limerick not really expecting a lot as I had just returned from Germany earlier in the week where I had been racing in the Vattenfall Classic, four stage race, near Hamburg as part of the Irish National FBD Talent Team.

“As well as the competitive racing we had an intensive days training at the velodrome in Düsseldorf.

“This was our second stage race in as many weeks as we had raced The Errigal International Youth Tour before going to Germany and to be truthful, by the time I had got back home to Ireland for the National Championships, I was feeling tired and the legs a little jaded.

“My plan for the time trial was just to get up to speed as fast as I could and stay on top of the big gear.

“I was absolutely delighted and surprised to post the fastest time and take the gold medal,” added Aaron.
