Dalriada 1st XI successfully through to next round of Plate

Dalriada dominated in the first half of the match, passing the ball well and getting into the attacking circle regularly.

Lynn Macaulay took advantage of the quick frees taking the ball up the right hand side of the pitch and won a lot of ground.

A long corner on the right hand side resulted in Holly Clark passing the ball to Rebecca Turton who pushed the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the net and the girls were up 1-0.

Wellington had one quick break, getting into Dalriada’s circle as the girls lost concentration slightly however they managed to respond and steered the ball from danger with Judith McConaghy showing great skill in channelling the player off to the side.

Diane Ramsey stepped up from the second eleven to fill in at centre back and showed great strength and stability in her role.

Dalriada dominated the second half, having the majority of possession and chances.

Attacking strong up the right and left hand sides both Lynn and Rebecca Turton made superb runs up the pitch narrowly missing two one on ones with the keeper.

Dalriada were awarded a stroke as the keeper took out Lynn who then stepped up to take it but a good save from the keeper stopped Dalriada going up 2-0.

The girls then stepped up a level and won a penalty corner which was converted by Holly Clark with a shot from the top of the circle.

Hollie Fleming organised well at the back keeping wellington at bay with only one attack resulting in a penalty corner. The corner was scored through a 3 way passing to the left post.

Dalriada were not phased responding quickly with a good break up the right by Sophia Rodgers and Eva Carson with Becky Webb converting a first time shot into the back of the net.

Towards the end of the match you could see the confidence of the girls growing as Manon Eymere showed great skill in taking the ball round players and making some superb.
