Dalriada Medallion unlucky to lose to a last gasp penalty by BRA

Dalriada Medallion played BRA on Saturday and the final score was 17-14 to BRA with the away team kicking a last play penalty to snatch the victory.

Dalriada started off well with constant pressure in the BRA half through slick play from Patrick Carson and James Allen directing the team, however with tough playing conditions and a slippery ball they failed to convert possession into points.

In a swing of momentum Dalriada found themselves in their own 22 metres after some tactical kicking from the BRA out half.

Several phases later the defence were outnumbered and BRA scored to leave it 7-0 at the interval.

In the second half Dalriada got on the scoreboard early from a penalty tap with Thomas Hunter crashing over from 5 metres out. Henry Ross converted 7-7.

Dalriada fought back well with great rucking from David Dysart, Josh Watson and Chris Wright and eventually the home team got over the line through centre Conor Clarke. Henry Ross again converted to make it 14-14.

In the last few minutes of the game BRA were awarded a penalty for a breakdown infringement which they converted to seal the win 17-14.
