Dalriada suffer narrow defeat

DALRIADA U-15 1 BALLYCLARE HIGH 2

On Saturday 1st December, Dalriada School and Ballyclare High School met at the Joey Dunlop Centre Ballymoney, where the Dalriada U15 team lost narrowly to Ballyclare’s 3rdXI with a final score of 2-1.

Ballyclare had first pass back with Dalriada chosing to play away from the sun. The play escalated between the two teams during the first half, with a few good runs from both teams. Dalriada defended well and worked efficiently to the right, but were unfortunate to conceed a goal.

In the second half, Dalriada worked well to score a goal, cleanly finished by Brogan Sparks (left wing) and excellently assissted by Olivia Cameron (centre forward) who set up the goal perfectly.

Megan Barr, who played right mid-field, also played very well, working the ball up the side-line. The whole Dalriada team played very well, but were again unfortunate to concede another goal, ending the match with a narrow loss.

BALLYCLARE 1 DALRIADA U-13B 1

On Saturday morning Dalriada U-13B hockey team travelled to play at Ballyclare High School.

For the majority of the first half, Ballyclare had the ball. The sweeper Leah Mcilveen and the defence; RB Emma Colgan CB Eve Webster and LB Maeve Mcgloughlin had to work very hard.

Unfortunately Ballyclare scored which resulted in a 1-0 led to Ballyclare at half time. During half time, coach Mrs Cousins gave some words of encouragement.

When the 2nd half started the girls came back with more determination then ever and they were fantastic. Just before the end of the match the midfields worked superbly in getting the ball up to the forwards. This resulted in a goal from Rebecca Bingham RF. The whole team played very well, and the end result was 1-1.The player of the match was Rebecca Bingham.
