Daniel and Alwyn reign supreme

LAST week saw the League Doubles in Scott's Bar with Daniel McDonald and Alwyn McCoosh of Brook's Flights winning the competition

On their way to the final they had to overcome the pairings of Johnny and Tommy Campbell (Sperrin) and Ian Patterson and Pollock McKay (Legion). In the final they met team mates Andy Martin and Jeff Watt, who beat Linda Calvin and Stacy McNaul (Scott’s Ladies), Rodney Kane and Martin Barr (Legion) and Gary Martin and Davy Morrow (Brook’s Flights) to reach the final.

In the final Daniel and Alwyn rushed into a 2-0 lead including a 90 finish (S18, T12, D18) by Alwyn in the first leg with legs in 24 and 25 darts. Jeff took out a 118 finish (T20, S18, D20) in the third leg and Andy hit double 8 in the fourth to level the score with 2 x 27 dart legs. With the score at 2-2 Daniel threw some impressive darts including a 180 and a 79 finish (S20, T13, D10) to clinch the title.

Scores in the final were as follows:

Andy: Leg 2 - 2x100; Leg 5 - 100.

Jeff: Leg 1 - 100; Leg 2 - 140; Leg 3 - 100, 118F, 140; Leg 4 - 125, 137, 140; Leg 5 - 100.

Daniel: Leg 1 - 2x100; Leg 2 - 139, 140; Leg 3 - 2x100; Leg 4 - 121, 140; Leg 5 - 100, 140, 180.

Alywn: Leg 1 - 100, 121; Leg 2 - 140; Leg 4 - 137.

Montra v Legion (League Shield Semi-Final 1st leg)

The next League meeting will be held this Wednesday (March 24). Tenders will be accepted for the Top/Bottom Cups at this meeting.

The next round of County matches will be held this Saturday (March 27). Area 1 travel to Area 5 and Area 6 host Area 4 Reds.
