Dart teams return to the oche

Tonight sees the start of the new season in the Craigavon District Darts League and see’s champions Drumgor going for three titles in a row.

They start off their campaign against last year’s fourth place team The INF and with both teams pretty much as you were from last year Drumgor should start off as favourites.

Last years 5th and 6th place teams go head to head when the Stables Bar host the Vintage and with both teams strengthening their panel they are both hoping to climb up the table but a good start to the season is vital.

Celtic will go in as favourites against Clann Eireann who keep improving each year and will hopefully get that victory that has somehow eluded them recently. Eire Og who have been the nearly men this past couple of seasons having finished second, third and then second again are hoping this is their year and with many of their players in good form over the summer they will surely go close again. They start off their campaign against the Trojans who have made a few more signings and should improve from last year’s point tally. All the action will start at the usual 9.00pm.

This Saturday also see’s this season Area 11 team start their County campaign when they travel to Banbridge to take on the newly formed Area 7a in a friendly. A panel of 16 players has been chosen again with all the players having to make it through the recent two trials and this years squad is as follows: Dee Blaney, Stevie Duff, Adrian Hutchinson, Shane Lennon, Terry Morrow, Mark McLernon, Noel Dunwoodie, John Cinnimond, Keith Beale, Dee Breen, Hugh Heaney, Chris Cinnimond, Paddy Magill, Eamon Duff, Marty Murray, Micky Campbell.

The game against Area 7a will take place in The Coach Inn and will start at 1pm.
