DARTS: Brook's Flights close in on league title

BROOK'S Flights have almost secured the league title courtesy of a 6-1 home win over Scott's Ladies B last night.

The Flights took the first six games with wins from Jeff Watt (100, 120, 140), Andy Martin (2x100, 2x125, 19 darts), Davy Morrow (2x100, 2x125) and Gary Martin (3x100). The best for the Ladies came from Lynn Godfrey (83, 137).

The Legion have now opened up a six point gap in the battle for second place. They recorded a 6-1 home win over nearest rivals Brook's A. The best came from Brook's A player Kevin Scanlon (2x100, 125, 140).

Sperrin got all seven points against the Montra and no scoresheet was returned in the game between Scott's Ladies A and the Forge.

In other darts news last week Area 6 entertained Area 5 at Brooks in Coleraine and Area 1 entertained Area 2 at the Sperrin in the Inter-Area Championship.

Area 6 had a comfortable 11-1 win in a game which involved Brook's Flights players Ricky Dunlop, Andy Martin, Alwyn McCoosh, Daniel McDonald, Jeff Watt and Sperrin player Michael Sweeney.

Area 1 were not as fortunate, losing 9-3. Area 1 includes Davy Morrow of Brook's Flights, Barry McLaughlin and Kevin Scanlon of Brook's A, Francie Kelly from the Sperrin and the Legion was represented through Martin Barr, Rodney Kane, Campbell Kennedy and Ian Patterson.
