DARTS: Swifts back on top of Coleraine League as Social Club close on Triangle title

Coleraine RBL’s 11 match unbeaten run came to an end on Friday night against Floyd’s A who were the last team to defeat the Legion back in October.

Villa also keep the pressure on at the top as they were awarded the win after Tavern failed to show for their match. Bertha’s and Finns also kept their hopes alive with wins over Temple and Floyd’s B respectively while Kelly’s and Railway Arms shared the points in their game.

There were four 180’s thrown this week from Pollock McKay, Barry McLaughlin (Coleraine RBL), Davy Toner (Villa Swifts) and Gary Keys (Finn McCools). Quickest leg this week was 16 darts by John Evangelista (Floyds A), other quick legs were: 17s - Aaron Hayter (Kellys), Ronnie Elliott (Berthas); 18s - Barry McLaughlin (Coleraine RBL), Eugene Phair (Railway Arms); 19s - John Evangelista (Floyds A), Paul Montgomery (Kellys), Kevin Scanlon (Railway Arms), Davy Glenn (Villa Swifts); 20s - James Walker, Pollock McKay (Coleraine RBL), Aaron Hayter (Kellys Inn), Vernon Phillips (Railway Arms). Highest checkouts this week were 116 by Eugene Phair and 111 by Barry McLaughlin.

Meanwhile in the Triangle Darts League Social A moved to within a point of retaining the title with yet another 6-0 demolition.

This time it was Floyd’s who were on the other end while Social B now look favourites for second place with a 5-1 win over Sperrin as Coleraine RBL with only two players available lost 4-2 to Forge B.

Floyd’s Flights kept their chances of second place alive with a 5-1 victory over Forge A.
