Davis hits goal of the season contender

Moneyslane under elevens played last Thursday night and they took on Camlough Utd in the league and from the start they took charge and we’re soon in the lead when Jordan Davis pounced on the loose ball and released a thunderous shot from 30 yards and it hit the inside of the post and into the net for what can be described as one of the best goals scored this season in the Carnbane League.

Slane were playing some nice two touch football and were unlucky not to go further ahead when Joshua Crawford slipped the ball to Sophie Megaw but she was blew up for offside when through on goal.

United got back into the game with a free kick two minutes before half time which was hammered into the roof of the net from the edge of the box

In the second half Slane went searching for a second goal and soon got it when Steven Moorhead found Ethan Banks on the edge of the box and he placed it into top corner for a great individual goal.

From then on it was all one-way traffic with wave after wave of attack and it was soon three when Michael Clydesdale played a great ball over the top and Sophie Megaw raced though and one on one with the keeper and she placed it in the bottom corner.

The Slane rearguard was on top of their game with Robyn Hanna, Jonny Martin, Michael Clydesdale and Megan Ferguson putting in solid performances.

Jordan Davis got his second and Slane’s fourth with a lovely chip over the keepers head from twenty yards out to polish off a fine display from the young side.

Man of the match was Michael Clydesdale
