Defeat for Portrush at Kilkeel

PORTRUSH Seconds made travelled to Kilkeel on Saturday to take on the Thirds in their first game of the new season.

It was a disappointing outcome for the visitors who went down 2-0 but can feel pleased with their overall performance.

Kilkeel had the edge early on, but the first half still ended scoreless. The post twice came to the rescue of Portrush in this period.

Ten minutes into the second half, Andy Christie forced a brilliant save from the home ‘keeper and in a blistering counter-attack, Kilkeel swept upfield to open the scoring.

They added a second towards the end to wrap up victory.
