Defeat in second game for Ladies

ON Sunday October 14 Banbridge Netball Club’s firsts travelled to Ballymena to play their second league match in the Netball Northern Ireland A2 League against again newly promoted Glens Ladies.

Glens Ladies started off the first quarter strong with an unsettled Banbridge finding it difficult to get the ball into the shooting circle.

Towards the end of the 1st quarter Banbridge had started to settle but still trailed 12-6.

Banbridge started strongly in the second quarter and from the strong defence and interceptions the team were able to capitalise on this with the half time score being equal.

A determined Banbridge kept the momentum going and took the lead in the 3rd quarter although Glens Ladies made it difficult for Banbridge, but the girls fought hard with the score at the end of the third quarter 31-28 to Banbridge.

Banbridge knew that they hard to work hard in the last quarter to ensure they kept the lead, but unfortunately Glens Ladies made use of Banbridge’s mistakes and ended up winning the match 38-37.

A great match of Netball and display of talent but a disappointed Banbridge.

Player of the match – Sarah Porter.
