Derby teams to contest new trophy
A NEW trophy will be up for grabs starting this weekend as Wellie Rec FC take on Larne Tech OB in the first leg of a local derby.
The first match of the Dennis Harvey Memorial Trophy kicks of at Brookvale Park, Millbrook at 2.30pm on Saturday, with the second leg taking place at Dennis Harvey Park in Antiville the following week.
Wellie Rec will also be taking on FC Moylena in a home game at 11.30am on Saturday. And the club is set to hold a free fun day, which kicks off at noon and will see bouncy castles, quad rides, assault courses, face painting, a barbecue and much more.
Live music will also take place throughout the day starting at 1pm. A Bay City Rollers tribute band will be performing from 8pm to late.
