LURGAN Town U11s took on local rivals Sunnyside on Saturday at the Arena in a game that was played in a good spirit by both sides.

The second Lurgan goal came from a corner with the ball falling to John Lee McAfee who smashed it into the net.

The third was the goal of the game with Lurgan gaining a free kick outside the box, up stepped Josiah Burgess who struck it sweetly into the top of the net.

In the second half Sunnyside put up a good fight to try and get back into the match and got one back. Lurgan tried to get the goal to kill the game off but had to wait till about ten minutes from the end when Conor Treanor broke down the right and scored with a good strike Sunnyside got a late consolation goal to finish 4-2 to Lurgan.

The boys won without really hitting top form and really it was a mixed bag performance and best was probably Zach Annett, till he went off injured, so Josiah Burgess picked the award up for two assists and a wonder strike.
