Derry hurlers take on London

DERRY senior hurlers play their second game in The National Hurling League Division 3A on Sunday when they travel to London for what will be a difficult enough assignment against an improved London team that won promotion last season.

The economic down turn in Ireland has seen a lot more emigration to London and this has strengthened their hand.

Derry have always found them a difficult side to handle and on the tight and heavy Ruislip pitch skill may not be a motivating factor.

Last Sunday the Londoner's gave Meath a very stiff test before going under by 2-16 to 1-14 in a game that had to be moved to Watford as the Ruislip pitch was not playable.

Derry will have to up their performance from last Sunday's heavy defeat by Kerry and if they are to figure in the promotion race they cannot afford to slip up in this game.
