Disappointing defeat to Ballymena

Larne Ladies suffered a 3-1 defeat to Ballymena in midweek with Gillian Rennix netting a consolation goal, four minutes from time.

Elswhere, the Seconds played out a 2-2 draw with Belfast Harlequins on Friday evening, while the club’s Under-13s started their junior league games on Sunday. They went undefeated in a round-robin tournament, thanks to draws with Portadown and Harlequins ‘C’ and wins over Peagsus and Harlequins ‘A’. The goalscorers for Larne were Heidi Smith and Beth McVeigh.

This weekend all the ladies’ teams are on the road. The First XI will be aiming to bounce back from that defeat against Ballymena when they take on Northern Ireland Civil Service at Stormont.
