Disappointing home defeat for Bann Ladies Seconds

Banbridge Seconds faced Ballymoney at home in their second match of the league on Saturday.

Bann started off strong, keeping possession and continuously advancing into the visitors half, but unfortunately were unable to convert any play into goals.

Ballymoney took their chances and broke through to win a short corner, which they scored from and went one up.

The home team set up quickly and were on the attack again but just before the half time whistle, Ballymoney took advantage of Banbridge’s lack of concentration in the circle and added another goal from a second short corner.

During the second half Banbridge regained some composure on the ball and began to increase pressure on the visitors, winning several short corners.

Unfortunately the ladies were unable to convert their chances into goals.

Ballymoney broke through again into the Banbridge circle and despite the defensive efforts; they volleyed the ball into the net adding another goal to the score sheet.

The fourth and final goal of the match came seconds before the final whistle, where Ballymoney increased their lead to 4-0 from a third penalty corner.
