Dobson backs Waringstown CC

ULSTER Unionist Councillor Jo-Anne Dobson has expressed her delight at the weekend success of Waringstown Cricket Club.

Jo-Anne commented, “As a Waringstown resident I am immensely proud of the continuing achievements and success of Waringstown Cricket Club.

“Last Saturday the First XI opening batsmen Kyle McCallan and James Hall scored centuries in Dublin against Old Belvedere in the second round of the Bob Kerr Irish Senior Cup.

“Meanwhile the Second XI were playing Lisburn in the Junior Cup at home and the two opening batsmen Ian Morrison and Stephen Allen also gained centuries.

“As far as I am aware this is unprecedented, the fact that four centuries were scored by four members of the same club on the same day is astonishing. What an achievement!

“It is encouraging to know that we have so much talent in the club.”

Jo-Anne said that she wished Waringstown Cricket Club continued success as they go into the third round on June 12. She concluded by adding, “The entire village and surrounding area are rooting for them.”
