INSTITUTE Under 15’s continued their assault on the North West and Coleraine District Under 15 Youth League on Saturday with an emphatic 4-0 victory fourth placed Moyola at The Riverside Stadium.

The home side got off to the perfect start after only two minutes when a super run and through ball by Lee Olphert found strike partner Aaron Tarr who made no mistake from inside the box to open the scoring.

Institute controlled the game throughout and should have gone further ahead in the 18th minute when a pin point corner from captain Jordan Greer was met at the back post by Andrew Callen, however his header was well saved by the Moyola keeper.

Minutes later Lee Olphert had a shot well saved following a great Tarr cross and the young striker then shot just wide himself with a delicate chip from a Nicky Morton through ball in 26th minute.

Despite their dominance however, the Drumahoe side failed to double their lead until the final minute of the first half when once again a clinical corner from Greer met the head of the impressive Callen who this time made no mistake to deservedly take the home team in at half time with a 2-0 lead.

Into the second half and Institute continued their overall dominance of the game and should have increased their lead in 45th minute following a great move through midfield involving Morton, Kyle, Tarr and Olphert, the flowing move concluded with Foyle College student Morton unluckily firing just wide of the right hand post.

However less than 60 seconds later, the home team put the game beyond any doubt when a ball from John Kyle fell to Tarr whose perfect lay back landed into the path of Olphert.

The big striker deservedly got himself on the score sheet, firing an unstoppable shot from 15 yards past the disparaging dive of the visiting keeper and into the net.

With eight minutes remaining, Institute rounded off the scoring when again Olphert and Tarr showed why they’ve been so clinical together this season.

The pair linked up superbly with Olphert’s defence splitting pass finding Tarr whose turn and finish from the edge of the box gave the Moyola shot stopper no chance and put a fair complexion on a game the home side dominated and deservedly won.
