Double netball success for Loreto

TWO netball teams from Loreto College Coleraine, Specialist School, have taken top honours in the Coleraine and District League this year.

The Senior Netball team emerged as winners of their age-group, following two terms of competitive fixtures with other local schools.

The team included captain Hannah Eastwood, Fiona McLaughlin, Rachel McCloskey, Catherine O’Kane, Ciara Cunning, Andrea Doherty, all Year 14 pupils and Bronagh Bogues and Claire McAtamney, of Year 13.

Meanwhile the Intermediate ‘B’ team finished as runners-up in their league section.

Skippered by Claire Tracey the team included Year 11 pupils Laura McIntyre, Justyna Pajak, Anna Moloney, Maeve Lofthouse, Shawnee Black, Faustina McLaughlin and Megan McWilliams.

Loreto principal, Brian Lenehan paid tribute to the members of both teams and their coach, PE teacher Ms Julie Wilson, for their consistent efforts and enthusiasm.
