Lurgan chased down the home side’s target for the loss of only three wickets with professional Niranjan Godbole complimenting his bowling performance with 37 not out.

On Sunday, Dundrum were the visitors to Pollock Park where they found Lurgan batsman Peter Haire to be in scintillating form. Peter hit 86 as the home side set Dundrum a target of 247 to win.

The visitors were always behind the run rate and were only 83 for three after 25 overs. The loss of Gavin McNerlin for 55 sealed Dundrum’s fate and they were eventually bowled out for 134, leaving the Town side the winners by 113 runs.

There was another four wicket haul for Niranjan Godbole, this time conceding 34 runs while Matthew McCormick, who had turned in a match winning performance with the bat the previous day for the seconds, took two for 23.

The two wins over the holiday period mean Lurgan stay top of Ulster Bank League Section 1, their only ‘defeat’ being the game against Bangor being declared void due to the inclement weather.
