Double trouble for Garvey as two teams out of Irish Cups

Garvey made their exit from both the IBA Senior and Junior Cups when they lost away games in the fourth round.

Divis won by 17 shots in the Senior Cup. They had beaten Garvey in the opening league fixture of the season and home advantage again proved decisive in this cup tie.

Garvey B, meanwhile, lost by 17 shots at Pickie B. They were minus two skips, Ken Armstrong and Alton Reid.

They actually won three of the rinks by a shot, but lost out on the fourth and it meant a double exit.

Down 8-12 at the tenth and 11-15 at 15 ends, Denis Rankin came back with a four at 19 ends and a last end single gave Garvey a tie.

At the tenth, Pat Hughes was 4-9 down and 7-12 at 15 ends with Garvey losing by four shots.

Down 6-19 at the tenth and 9-31 at 15 ends Bobby Carroll lost by 18 shots. Jim Chapman was 6-10 down at the tenth but took a 15-11 lead by 15 ends before winning by five shots.
