Downshire School win chance to train with Ireland star Bowe

The rugby team at Downshire School have been chosen as the winners of the Subway #TrainwithTommy competition.

The team will travel to Belfast for a training session with Ulster, Ireland and Lions star Tommy Bowe and also collect £1,625 worth of rugby gear for their school.

They were selected from hundreds of entries, scooping the top prize for their creative photo submission which featured pupils spelling out “Pick us Tommy”.

Lindsay Davison, who submitted the entry on behalf of Downshire, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won the chance to Train with Tommy! We are really excited about travelling to Belfast to meet Tommy and would like to say a huge thank you to the Subway brand for making this possible “

Tommy Bowe commented: “Downshire School’s entry stood out for me. They got the whole team involved and really put the effort into coming up with a great picture. A big thanks to everyone that entered and I’m looking forward to meeting the team at the training session.”
