Draw made for Nevin Cup ties

With the defending Nevin Cup champion Vincent Graham not defending his trophy, this year's competition looks very open.

Last year, the Ballymoney man had a 30-point advantage over opponent Damien Reid and after a good start he got over the line to win 4-2

This year’s competition should prove to be extremely interesting and as this competition is not restricted to league players only, there could be quite a few dark horses who could appear.

David Louden, from Rafters in Ballymoney, is playing some great snooker at present and will definitely be one to watch.

Steven McIlreavy is another who does not play league snooker but is a very capable player on his day, and with his +20 handicap, his first round opponent of Ady Toner will have to be at his best.

However, the tie of the round looks like being Willie Eakin vs Curtis Boreland, with Curtis receiving a generous 20 point start, he may have too much for the experienced Eakin to overcome.

There’s no doubt this year’s cup will provide some entertaining snooker and the destination of the Nevin Cup is very much anyone’s guess at this stage.
