Dromore A team beaten by midweek and ladies win

It was not a good week for Dromore BC's A team.

On Monday evening, they were hosts to Portadown and went down to a heavy defeat, taking only one point by SG Malcomson. He got over the line by two shots.

It was a better performance when they took on Banbridge away on Thursday evening, going down by just seven with Nathan Haire showing a winning card of six and getting a winning point for the locals.

The Vets number one team were at Lurgan on Monday and returned home empty handed in a 20 shot defeat.

The number two team were at home on Wednesday, losing on one rink to take four points against Saintfield

The Midweek team had a better week taking six and half points on Tuesday evening against Kilkeel. K Poots, J Dickson and G Dawson had rink wins with H Maxwell shared the spoils on the other rink.

The Ladies on Thursday had a field day against Antrim, taking full points in an easy win.

On Friday, the rink of F Shannon, S Malcomson, K Aiken and G Dawson won their game representing the NIBA Vets against the Private Greens.

The July Player of the Month at Dromore Club is I Hamilton.

The Dromore team put in a good show until 15 ends in their game against Bangor. They were only three down at that stage but fell to defeat at 21 ends by 13 shots.

The B team played their game at Newry and went down heavily, According to reports, the green is going downhill every season. The rink of T Ogle, J Kidd, J Black and S Malcomson did very well and only a bad second quarter would have scored a point.

This Saturday, the B team are away to Gilnahirk in a league fixture.
