Dromore athletes find good performances in the fog

GREENMOUNT Campus in Antrim was the venue last weekend for the Antrim International Cross Country meeting with top class athletes from near and far putting on a great day's racing over the frozen and fog covered course.

And among them were athletes from the Dromore club with them all giving excellent performances on the day.

Rebekah Nixon, who has been having a great season, continued it on in the U13 girls 1800m where she was always in touch with the leaders throughout in the largefield and had a super run to finisha close fourth behind top qualityopposition fromEngland, Scotland and from here, North and South.

In the U13s boys 1800m race Benjamin McKibbin also had a verygood run for 52nd place in another large field, while in the U15s boys 3600m two more excellent performances came from Timothy McCracken, 28th, in anotherhigh classfield and Jack McKibbin, 32nd.

It was same again in the male veterans' race with Brian McKee having a great run for eighth place and also for Ernie Hall, finishing in 39th.

Julie Turley gave a super performance in the senior women's 5600m race. Running for the Northern Ireland team, she had a tremendous run to finish 14th in a top class field.
