Dromore girls show off their Tricks with Sticks

OVER 70 Dromore junior hockey girls turned out on Saturday April 21 for the Tricks with Sticks event organised by the club.

They were not put off by the showers as they made their way around each activity.

Their scores were recorded at each base and this was a great opportunity for the parents to see the skills their daughters had been learning all year.

While the scores were being calculated the under 15s played their coaches in a very competitive match. The score was very close with Bethany Ravey scoring for the under 15 and Thomas Sturgeon, Nicola Clements and Ruth Ravey scoring for the coaches - well done coaches!

Every girls received a certificate depending on the points she gained; bronze, silver and gold awards and a trophy for the top score in each age group.

Club President Ruth Ravey presented the top scorers with their trophies; Primary 3-Lara Wilson, Primary 4-Emma McMurray, Primary 5-Zara Greenfield, Primary 6- Megan Creighton, Primary 7-Megan Mackey , Year 8-Kirsty Wilson , Year 9-Emily Robinson Year 11-Jemma Smyth, Katherine Bigger, Emma Tweedie and Gemma Burns. Well done girls.

Many thanks to all the coaches and helpers who gave up their time.

Remember there will be a junior tournament for all Dromore girls Primary 3-Year 9 with everyone to meet at Ferris Park at 9.30am in Dromore with their playing kit with gum shield, shin guards and stick.
