Dromore sides take on Bangor Grammar

DROMORE High School U13s A and B teams played Bangor Grammar recently.

The A’s were in brilliant form playing excellent open running. Dromore dominated the game from start to finish, scoring six brilliant tries through Curtis Jackson (4), Marcus Heath, Matthew McMaster. All the tries were converted by out half, Alex Walker.

It was an excellent start for them for the season, picking up from a very good season last year when they won the Campbell tournament.

The boys can look forward to an interesting season, playing against the top Grammar Schools this year.

The B team went out with players trying out different positions and putting pressure on the A team for their places.

They played good rugby scoring three tries but it was Bangor who had the final say, winning the game 15-10. It was good to see so many players turning out for practice.

It was Bangor Grammar who made the trip up to Dromore for this game in what was a great battle between two well drilled teams.

Dromore were leading 12-10 with five minutes to go but Bangor scored at the end with a well worked try to take the honours.

It was a good start for the team as it was their first game of the season, stepping up a level by lifting in line outs.

The players showed excellent attitude, commitment with big tackles and aggressive running. The scrum was very powerful.

Dromore travelled with an A and B-Team to Bangor Grammar on a wet and windy day.

The bad weather conditions didn’t stop the boys putting on a good performance. The A team scored five excellent tries with the forwards dominating the match.

The players showed a good attitude with the way they approached the game.

The B team played well and showed excellent commitment in scoring two well executed tries. Well done boys!

Dromore should be pleased that they had 22 players there to play. Bangor scored at the end to deny the team a draw.
