Duddy wins at Foyle

FOYLE'S confined Stableford competition on Saturday saw Thomas Duddy (13) with 46 points claim first place, while John McDowell (14) was second after a break of tie finish with 43 points and Paul McEleney (19) was third.

The Friday Open Stableford Competitions got underway last week with a good entry and two handicapper Damien McKenna compiled an excellent 3 under par 41 points winning score albeit after a BOT decision with second placed Joe Flanagan (13).

Third place went to Leo Young (23) after he scored 40 points.

Last Wednesday’s confined stableford competition went to Emmett McNally (15) after he scored 42 points to claim first place, while Kieran Duffy (11) scored 40 points to finish in second place.

Today (Wednesday) sees the Crumley Construction Monthly Medal take place, while on Friday the open stableford competition is down for the decision, to book a tee/time telephone 71352222. On Saturday the Fred Daly Memorial Tophy Qualifier takes centre stage.

Meanwhile on Thursday April 22, Foyle Lady Captain Anne Hamilton took top honours in the first monthly medal competition of the season with a fine 70 nett beating off both her Club treasurer, Denise Callan (22), and Vice Captain Christine McCafferty on a break of tie finish.

Congratulations to Ann Fulton’s team on their victory in the AA Junior Foursomes event which takes them into the second round where they will meet Portadown or Castle Hume; also Agnes McLaughlin’s AA Intermediate Cup team which progressed to the second round having defeated Whitehead on Monday at Ballyclare
