The home side attacked from the off and took the lead through the returning Gareth Cairns and then quickly doubled their lead when player manager Jason Wilmont scored.

David Murray got them a third just before half time to leave the away side shell shocked going in at the break.

Paul Robinson pulled one back for Taverners at the start of the second half but this strike was quickly cancelled out when amazingly a big kick forward by Doherty in the Dunaghy goal eluded everyone and dropped into the back of the net.

Arnie Blair was next on the score sheet when he scored his team's fifth before Bartlett scored a belter for number six.

Andrei Graur pulled one back for the Taverners but Wilmont capped off a fantastic result when he scored number seven straight from a corner kick. Man of the Match: Robert Adams (Dunaghy Old Boys)

Ballyrashane Coronation 0 Balnamore 4

This match was played on a very bumpy pitch at Ballysally and good flowing football was hard to come by as both teams struggled with the surface.

Balnamore started off the better with Mooney and Madison bringing good saves out of Doherty.

Balnamore welcomed Aidy McLaughlin back after several months out and it was his ball that sent Ryan Mooney clear and as he was about to strike Deeny upended him for a penalty.

Simon Armstrong stepped up and hammered the ball into the top corner for one nil.

Balnamore were two up moments later after the best move of the match which involved several players playing one touch football and Ricky Blair fired his shot at goal but Doherty could only parry and Aidy McLaughlin fired an unstoppable volley into the roof of the net.

Balnamore should have gone further ahead but Joe Connor just couldn't get enough on McLaughlin's corner with the goal at his mercy.

The second half continued in the same vein with Balnamore pushing forward continuously and this relentless pressure had to get a reward and it came from an unlikely source as John Barnes fired from all of 30 yards into his own net.

Three then became four when Kelly put Madison through and he rounded the keeper and fired into the empty net. With time running out Balnamore could have added two more but McKinnon and Corr failed to convert when well placed. Man of the match: Nicky Tweed (Balnamore)

Coleraine Olympic 1 Berthas FC 9

In what can only be described as perfect weather conditions for the beautiful game both these teams didn't seem to be enjoying the first 20 minutes.

Olympic had a great chance to go ahead, a mix up in the Berthas defence saw Fleming clean through with only the keeper to beat, he rounded Elder who made himself as big as possible and probably just done enough to force him wider where Gilchrist then intervened and made the clinical tackle and forced the ball out for a corner.

This was the wake-up call Berthas needed.

They took the lead not long after when Cameron was unfortunate to head Davy Graham's corner into his own net.

As Olympic wondered what had happened Berthas were keen to get the ball rolling and no sooner was it 2-0 when good link-up between Drake and Cochrane saw the later place a cool finish into the bottom corner.

Two shortly became three when McGarvey was brought down in the box after good link up play with Campbell with Berthas talisman Cochrane making no mistake from the spot.

Olympic heads had well and truly dropped and Berthas continued to mount attack after attack and it was turning in to a case of how many it was going to be.

Cochrane and Drake were linking well up top and they did in the 40th minute to find Ridgell out wide whose cross into the box found the head of McGarvey who towered above two defenders and scored a great goal from 10 yards out.

Olympic opted to choose the long ball and try to get back into the game, but Campbell and Brown's height advantage cancelled the majority of these efforts out.

Cochrane then turned provider for Drake as both players were enjoying the game, a cool finish from Drake saw Berthas go in five goals to the good at the break.

Berthas FC made a few substitutions at half time, taking off the experienced Greene for a younger version in Rankin.

He took no time to get involved winning a super tackle in the middle of the park, a neat one-two between himself and Ridgell created space for Ridgell to score with a good finish against his former club.

Olympic pulled one back after Sweeney was brought down on the edge of the area.

The resulting free kick was one of the few chances on target Olympic had but they made this one count, Sweeney driving the ball after a lay off from Irwin, the ball somehow going in the net via a few defenders' legs much to the dismay of Elder in the Berthas goal.

Berthas the produced two more goals in quick succession, Rankin winning a header in the centre of the park, played in Drake as Olympic cried for offside he finished calmly from the edge of the area.

Cochrane then completed his hat trick with a cool finish from six yards after good work from McGarvey.

Berthas took the foot off the gas for the remaining 20 minutes and allowed Olympic a few chances.

Lucky for Berthas, Olympic choose only to shoot from range and never really looked like troubling Elder in nets.

It was Berthas however who had the last say in the game when a quick throw-in from Chan on the right saw McGarvey play in Cochrane who completed his fourth and Berthas' ninth goal of the game. Man of the Match: Davy Campbell (Berthas FC)

Somerset 2 Mountview 0

This match was a close affair with both defences on top in the early stages.

The first shot of the game came from Somerset's Miller but he was unlucky to see the chance go over the crossbar. Mountview had most of the possession but strong defending from Somerset's back four meant they restricted the away team to long-range shots.

Somerset scored against the run of play when Barry McGonigle played in Gary Knight who made no mistake with the finish.

Five minutes later Somerset made it two with a swift counter-attack from a Mountview corner when Graham Hannah powered down the left and picked out Knight in the area who coolly slotted home off the post.

Mountview continued with good pressure and should have had one back when Kieran Reid's header from point blank range was magically saved from Somerset number one Keith Harkin.

This kept Somerset's 2-0 lead intact.

The second half was much the same as the first with Mountview having most of the possession but was unable to break down the Somerset defence which was well marshalled by Shane McGonigle.

Inconsistent refereeing decisions upset both teams with both having good penalty shouts turned down.

A solid team performance should been rewarded with a third goal when David McComb escaped the off side trap and squared to Knight who unbelievably missed from four yards.

Mountview to their credit kept the pressure on but this was Somerset's day. Man of the Match: Gary Knight (Somerset)

Riverside Athletic 3 FC Macosquin 0

Playing their first game for several weeks the home side showed no ill effects as they went about a first half demolition of their visitors.

The improving James McGoldrick swept the ball past Biggs in the FC goal after only three minutes following a mix up in the box.

With the early advantage established Riverside continued to dominate play with good passing and movement and a corner on twelve minutes saw the ball knocked up in the air by the visitors' defence and as it bounced Chris Blair acrobatically scissor kicked it past the helpless Biggs for number two.

Midway through the half the impressive Thompson was upended wide left and from the resulting free kick Blair curled the ball home off the inside of the post for his second and Riverside's third.

Three nil at the break. The second half was more or less about Riverside hanging onto their lead although the visitors had a couple of decent free kicks that went just narrowly wide. That said however Riverside were still comfortable enough to give reserve keeper Gary Archibald a run out as a striker. Needless to say he didn't score! Man of the match: Mark Beattie (Riverside Athletic)

West Bann Athletic 2 The Villagers 0

West Bann Athletic bossed this game from start to finish and were rewarded with their first clean sheet and more importantly three points of 2010.

Athletic had several chances in the first half to take the lead but failed to take any of them.

Half time 0-0.

Goals from Michael Olphert and Martin Pancott in the second half were enough to see off the challenge of Villagers who rarely threatened all game. Full Time 2-0. Man of the Match: Peter O'Kane (West Bann Athletic)

Finn McCools 2 Brook Street 1

Finns started the better having couple of one on ones which the Brook Street keeper did well to keep out while Brook Street's Law had a long range shot brilliantly saved by the Finns keeper.

In the second half Brook Street nearly took the lead but the upright came to the home team's rescue.

Finns finally broke the deadlock when Johny Parke ran onto McDonald's through ball to finish neatly into the net.

Finns made it two when the Brook Street keeper and defender collided with ball falling invitingly to Rushe who tapped in from four yards.

Both teams then had one-on-one chances but they couldn't hit the target.

Brook Street's goal came when Duffy's shot came off the crossbar but was converted emphatically to give the away team hope of getting something from the game.

Both teams kept pushing but Finns held on to take the three points. Man of the Match: Willie McDonald (Finn McCools)
