Dunbarton win Lurgan 400Rinks Comp

THE Dunbarton rink of J. Moffatt, T. Bell, C. McCartan and A. Hughes (skip) played the Antrim rink of R. Kennedy, D. McCullough, R. McCullough and T. Evans (skip) in the final of this years Lurgan 400 Rinks competition.

The Antrim rink started off well winning the first four ends and leading 4-0 which could have been more except for some great bowls by the Dunbarton skip Andy Hughes to cut the count in each end. In the fifth end Dunbarton got onto the scorecard with five shots and over the next two ends took a further five shots to lead on the seventh end 10-4.

Over the next six ends the count was shared at three all leaving Dunbarton in the lead 13-7. The difference in the teams at this stage was the three poor ends that Antrim had giving away ten shots. In the last three ends Antrim again dropped ten shots leaving Dunbarton the winners 23-7.
