Duneane tournament reaches conclusion this Saturday night

THE finals night line-up in the annual Superseal Windows-sponsored Duneane singles tournament will be completed this week.

Entry slots are still available for the qualifying heats on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week.

The finals night will take place this Saturday, December 22, starting at 7pm.

Among those who have already booked their places in the finals night are mid-Antrim duo Andi Duncan and Grant Robinson.

Results from the first week of qualifying were:

WEDNESDAY

Section A – semi-finals: Sean Quinn (Cookstown Parochial) 8, Kieran Teague (Kinturk) 10; Helen Lynn (JTI) 3, Nigel Hamilton (Hillsborough) 9. Final: Teague 4, Hamilton 9.

Section B – semi-finals: Mark Sproule (Drumgor) 7, Mark McNicholl (St Canice’s Dungiven) 5; Robin Gamble (St Canice’s Dungiven) 9, Dessie Hamilton (Hillsborough) 8. Final: Sproule 4, Gamble 9.

THURSDAY

Section A – semi-finals: Sam Fry (OC Pres) 9, William Watterson (Woods) 5; Nigel Charles (Dundrod Pres) 9, Laura Douglas (Ardstraw) 1. Final: Fry 3, Charles 8.
