Dunloy lose out to early pace setters

BRANTWOOD with six wins from six games are setting the pace at the top of the Intermediate Division sending out a message 'you have to catch us' to all the teams behind them.

With all ground in the Junior Sections now open there will be a full fixture list on Saturday for the first time this season.

With it being the Lammas Fair weekend there was a good crowd of spectators watching the game but unfortunately no goals were scored during the first-half.

Things changed early in the second half when Ally McNair opened the score for the visitors on the 51st minute.

Ballycastle then equalised through Lee Watterson on the 63rd minute and took the lead after Conor McLister scored on the 68th minute.

Ballynure got back on level terms when Brian Cochrane scored on the 70th minute but after this flurry of goals no more were scored before full time. Referee Mr Jonny McCrudden

Brantwood 8 v 1 Dunloy

Brantwood who have had a great start to the season took the lead after Craig Faulkner scored on the 19th minute and after this the Dunloy keeper had to go off due to injury. Brantwood never slackened and goals scored by Aidan Hanna on the 24th minute, Matty Armstrong 36th and 40th minutes saw them four clear at half-time.

Goals from Wayne Porter on the 54th and 60th minute plus Matty Armstrong completing his hat-trick on the 67th before pulled a goal back for Dunloy on the 71st minute. As time then ran out Aidan Hanna converted a penalty on the 87th minute. Referee Mr Gary Curran

This was a good win for Rasharkin and manager Chris Peacock who has brought in a number of new players this season. One of these players is young Ian Parkhill who helped himself to a hat-trick of goals to take his team into the next round.

Junior Division One

Finvoy 1 v 3 Glebe Rangers Reserves

This was the first derby game between the two close neighbours and in this occasion it was the Glebe who came out on top.

Glebe scored three through a brace of goals from Ryan Lynch and one from Tommy Elder with Gareth Cairns replying for Finvoy.

Ballymoney United Reserves 7 v 0 FC Larne

Ballymoney had this game under control from early on against a young inexperienced Larne team.

Andrei Graur put Ballymoney in front on the 15th minute followed by goals scored by Conor McKenna on the 42nd and 46th minutes.

Andrei Graur completed his hat-trick with goals on the 51st and 54th minutes followed. Chris McDonald put Ballymoney six in front on the 65th minute followed by Andrei Graur scoring his fourth on the 89th minute. Referee Mr William McConaghie
