Dunloy man Madden moves up the ranks and lifts team spirits

WITH Duffin Transport Racing team members riding in numbers over the weekend in road races at Dromore on Saturday and Cookstown on Sunday some good results were anticipated.

Unfortunately no one in the team seemed capable of anything and the results were poor until Dunloy man Adrian Madden lifted the spirits of the team with an excellent 7th place in the A4 race at the Mid Ulster GP.

Adrian has been proving himself one of the strongest A4 riders on the circuit for the past two years and only narrowly missed out on glory on Sunday in the sprint finish as a number of riders swept passed him yards from the finishing line.

Madden wasn’t too disappointed though and was all smiles when he was informed that he had got 7th place and the long awaited for 2 points he required to move him up the ranks to become an A3 rider.

Congratulations also go to young Junior rider Craig Crawford from Ballymena who took part in the Ernie Magwood Time Trial series event in Omagh. Craig’s time of 23.32 was an excellent time in the windy conditions and saw him finish as second junior. Duffin’s Bryan McKinney also rode the event and finished with a time of 22.44.

Also going well in the race against the clock is Jerome McKendry who finished 3rd overall in Ballymena Road Club’s Stan Finlay Memorial with a time of 24 29 on a horrible night for timetrialling.
