DUNLOY ROCKED BY SHOCK DEFEAT

Saturday was a busy day with all the teams in action though it was not a good one in the divisional competitions with Brantwood losing by the odd goal in the Steel & Sons Cup and Desertmartin and Newtowne making their exits from the North West Craig Memorial Cup.

INTERMEDIATE LEAGUE

DUNLOY 0 v 1 CARNINY AMATEURS

This was a very disappointing result for Dunloy who had hoped to get back into winning ways after their defeat the previous Saturday.

Manager Anthony McCartney and Carniny on the other hand were delighted with the result away from home which came via courtesy of a goal scored by Graham Adams who met a cross from Ryan Wilkinson on the 75th minute before volleying the ball into the net. Referee Mr. Noel Crossan

This game got off to an explosive start with three goals scored in the first four minutes.

Neil McGrath scored on the 2nd minute putting the Comrades in front then two goals scored by Andrei Graur on the 3rd and 4th minutes saw Glebe in front.

No more goals were the scored until Gareth Henry scored for Glebe on the 40th minute and this score remained until Gerard Bond scored for the Comrades on the 90th minute.

BALLYMONEY UTD RES 4 v 1 MALLUSK ATHLETIC

The first half was a very close affair with little to choose between the team’s other than a goal scored by Mark Dempsey for Ballymoney on the 43rd minute.

Mark Dempsey scored his second goal on the 55th minute then a goal from Andy Atkinson on the 63rd minute saw Ballymoney three goals to the good.

Mallusk pulled a goal back after Karl Campbell scored on the 73rd minute but this was cancelled out after Conor Reid converted a penalty for Ballymoney on the 81st minute. Referee Mr. Martin Bellew

After losing their first game of the season Finvoy have re-built and have now won their last three on the trot scoring 18 goals in the process. Goals scored by Ryan Stewart 2, Gareth Cairns, Adam Harkness saw Finvoy four goals clear at half-time.

Grange pulled a goal back when Scott Higgins scored but back came Finvoy with goals scored by Gareth Cairns, Ryan Pedan and Ryan Stewart for an emphatic win. Referee Mr. Brian Patterson
