Dunloy sit two points clear of Raceview

WITH the improvement in the weather only three games were lost in total on Saturday.

One to a wet pitch in Doagh and two to frozen grounds in Cookstown.

There remains little change at the top of all four divisions and with favourable weather February will be a big Month when a lot of the top teams in each division will play each other.

RESULTS

INTERMEDIATE DIVISION

Desertmartin 1 v 4 Dunloy

Dunloy took the lead after Jonny McAleese scored on the 14th minute and then doubled this on the 15th minute through a goal scored by Benny McGarry.

Desertmartin tried hard to get back into the gamer but fell further behind after Conor Hardy scored a third goal for Dunloy on the 33rd minute.

As half-time was then approaching Colin Overend pulled a goal back for Desertmartin on the 36th minute reducing the deficit to two at the break.

Dunloy were quick off the mark in the second half getting a fourth goal when Janie McFerran scored on the 49th minute and thought both teams had chance this was the final goal in the game. Referee Mr Tony Young

Rasharkin United 5 v 3 Kilbride Swifts

Rasharkin were in front after Steven Craig scored on the 9th minute and this goal separated the teams until Jordan Kernohan equalised for Kilbride on the 35th minute.

Rasharkin regained the lead after Jonny Nicholl scored on the 41st minute and added to this when Ryan Christie scored on the 44th minute. Both teams were then reduced to ten men on the 48th minute after having a player each sent off then on the 67th minute Willie Young scored for Kilbride. No more goals came until Andrew Chestnutt scored for Rasharkin on the 80th minute followed by Craig Singleton scoring for Kilbride on the 83rd minute. With the game then in stoppage time Colin Craig scored the crucial fifth goal for Rasharkin. Referee Mr Brian Patterson

JUNIOR DIVISION ONE

Glebe Rangers Reserves 1 v 2 Newtownabbey FC

The visitors had control of this game at the start and took the lead after Jackie Moore converted a penalty on the 20th minute. After this Glebe came more into the game but no more goals were scored until Jackie Moore scored his second goal on the 70th minute. Glebe did get on the score sheet when Ian Bellingham scored with a well directed free kick on the 88th minute. Referee Mr Paddy McQuillan

Chimney Corner Res 0 v 4 Ballymoney United Reserves

Ballymoney took the lead on the 5th minute through a well taken goal scored by Neil Fleming then followed this up with a second after David Nicholl put Keith Thompson in to score on the 22nd minute.

On the 30th minute Keith Thompson scored his second goal in the game and after Conor McKenna scored a fourth for Ballymoney on the 40th minute the points were safe. Referee Mr Mark O'Neil

Finvoy 2 v 0 Red Star

Both teams started off well but Red Star went a man down after having a player sent off on the 18th minute and then had a second player sent off on the 44th minute.

Half-time saw no goals had been scored by this changed in favour of Finvoy when Andrew Magee scored on the 61st minute. Red Star never gave up the chase but after Craig Davis scored a second goal for Finvoy on the 77th minute the points were safe of the home side. Referee Mr William McConaghie
