Duo aim for City Cup final place

THE big shock of the weekend was the defeat of Premier title winners Newtowne in the City Cup when they lost by the only goal of the game at home to Burndennett; this was the Roesiders first home defeat in three years and only their second loss this season.

In the other City Cup games Greysteel defeated Eglinton and Tullyally Colts knocked out Dungiven Reserves. In the Premier Division Lincoln Courts had a comfortable win over Roe Rovers.

Newbuildings Reserves won the Second division title on Saturday after defeating Churchill Reserves. Caw the leaders for much of the season have blown their chances of even getting promoted when they went down by the odd goal of three against Ardmore; with Donemana also winning it now looks between them and Ardmore for the other promotion place.

Premier Division

Lincoln Courts v Burndennett

The Courts have finished runners up and they will consider that to have been a reasonable season, after winning at the weekend they will be looking to continue that in this one.

Burndennett after their magnificent win over Newtowne will want to continue with that form as they prepare for the semi final of the City Cup, a draw could be the likely outcome.

Prediction: Score Draw.

City Cup

Greysteel v Tullyally Colts

Greysteel have become cup specialists this season having already reached the final of the Matt Morrisson Junior Cup, they have a quality side who will be a force to be reckoned with in the league next season.
