East Antrim Indoor Bowls League round-up

BALLYNURE Presbyterian travelled to Carrick in expectation of enhancing their chances of finishing in fifth place ahead of Ulster Transport and First Ballyeaston.

But they got off to a bad start as Mt. St Nicholas won both opening games setting up the real possibility of causing an upset against a team 14 points ahead of them in the table. M Kennedy won by six shots and C Hendry by five to give the homesters a very decent advantage. The first half lead was due to the home front ends with leads B Morgan and V Blair producing the best performances of their respective rinks

Tom Mercer rallied his troops with an impressive performance to guide them to an eight shot win eating well into the home lead. It was down to J Kirk to counter the challenge of A Ferguson if Mt. St Nicholas were to claim their third win of the season. His rink held their opponents to a draw enabling the homes side to claim a close exciting win. After a slow start to the season Mt.
