East Tyrone CC to host time trial

EAST Tyrone Cycling Club will host Round 8 of the Cooper Motorcycles Time Trial League which is the Bob Cummings Cup Hilly TT this Thursday (July 19) at 7.30pm.

The event will be held on a new course starting at the entrance to Donaghy’s Concrete Works on the Lissan Road, and participants will travel along the Feegarron Rd to turn at the top of Snail Walk Hill and return back along the same route, giving a distance of approximately 11 miles.

East Tyrone will also promote the Ernie Magwood Memorial open 10 mile Time Trial on Sunday morning at 10am which is kindly sponsored by Lafarge Cement, Cookstown.

The event will be held on the Omagh Road with sign on at the Bramble Inn from 9am. Entry is £5 with prizes for the first three placed riders along with the first lady, first East Tyrone rider and the first placed rider using a road race specification bike; that is a bike and equipment that is permitted in a road race. There will be light refreshments after the event.

Sunday, August 12 will see this year’s edition of the Sperrin Challenge charity leisure tour.

There will be three routes on offer to cover cyclists of all abilities. Event HQ will be at Moneymore Recreational Centre, with the event starting at 10am.
