Escaped with an unlikely draw

SUNNYSIDE under 14s drew 2-2 last Wednesday night with fellow title hopefuls Hillsborough.

The Lurgan side never got into any pattern in the first half as Hillsborough pressed and took a 1-0 lead into the interval.

Sunnyside fell behind further in the second half with time running out.

Then they put a good move together and Robert McQuaid scored low into the corner.

With three minutes left Jamie McGleenon headed home powerfuly from a corner and Sunnyside escaped with an unlikely draw.

Saturday’s game was a six pointer against Seagoe and this time the Lurgan side played more like themselves in winning 4-2.

Aaron Rogers opened the score with a left foot strike but Seagoe fought back and got a deserved equaliser.

Padraig Judge restored Sunnyside’s advantage and Robert McQuaid made it three before half-time.

Seagoe reduced the deficit ten minutes from the end of the game before Peter Mulholland rounded off the scoring for Sunnyside with number four.
