Event proves ‘relay’ rewarding for Ballymena & Antrim club

For the first time in 25 years the most recent ‘meet’ in the firmus energy Super 6 athletics series was dedicated mostly to relay races.

Each age group from U13 to seniors was offered a 4 x 100 metres competition and more than 50 teams took part, including relay runners from Ballymena and Antrim.

There were no events for the minis but the older age groups were also able to take part in other track and field activities including the shot, long jump, javelin and hurdles.

Ballymena & Antrim Under 13’s recorded a new Northern Ireland best of 51.87s.
