In April, the students won the British Universities Cup defeating Southampton University 9-0 in a final held in Nottingham and, more recently, Edinburgh won the Scottish Ladies’ Cup at Glasgow Green defeating Western 4-1 to complete the double.

It was fitting that Camilla, as team captain, scored in both games, a great achievement as it is the first time Edinburgh University had won either of these prestigious competitions.

Now a fourth year medical student at Edinburgh she has played for the university first XI from first year and has been part of the side’s development over the past few years.

They now have three full Scottish internationals playing regularly on the team and, apart from Camilla, everyone else is a Scottish under-21 international.

Lyttle was part of the very good Foyle and Londonderry College of several years ago, captained by Megan Frazer, which won the Ulster Schools Cup.

Incidentally Frazer captained Ireland in the recent Champions Challenge I competition, which took place in Glasgow, where she played in all six games and scored once.
