Excellent display by under 17s

LURGAN under 17s produced another excellent display when they defeated Lisburn 39-15 away from home.

The town side were heavily defeated in the corresponding fixture last season and right from the off Lisburn threw everything they had at Lurgan.

As a result of a high tackle Lurgan were awarded a penalty which Mark McIlwaine converted to put his side 3-0 in front against the run of play.

A penalty to Lisburn ended the scoring in the first half at 15-10 to the visitors.

Lurgan started the second half by doubling their efforts. This soon showed after just three minutes when Jamie Clarke scored in the corner.
