Excellent games in Coleraine and District Snooker League

THIS week's matches in the Coppergate International Coleraine and District Snooker League proved that the handicap system is working well with all the matches bar one going to the colours.

Dunloy United beat Triangle Young Guns 4-2. Brendan McTaggart of Dunloy felt the wrath of the potting machine Keith Hunter as he lost both frames. Triangle A and Triangle B had a hard fought match with Willie Eakin's Triangle A coming out on top 4 -2 winners.

Willie Boreland lost both frames with a poor performance by Willie's standards. Newcomers Dunloy Chiefs were at home to Garvagh and Marcus Dickson's team thought they would get a big win. But fair play to the young team they held Garvagh to a draw.

University B and Ballymoney Diamonds also shared the spoils with a draw 3 - 3.

Triangle Destroyers were at home to Dunloy Galaxy and captain Johnny White and his team were the only big winners of the week beating Galaxy 5-1.

The Sammy Walker Knockout League Cup will be played to the semi finals over the next two weeks and round one sees Triangle B at home to Garvagh, Ballymoney All Stars at home to Triangle Destroyers, Triangle A at home to Triangle Young Guns and Ballymoney Diamonds at home to Coleraine Hawks. Good luck to all teams.
