Extra time goal denies Riada FC
Riada started fast and could have gone in front early on when Ryan Christie turned and shot in the box only to see his effort parried by the Warren YM keeper.
Riada created a couple of chances from set pieces with McAleese and Duffy heading wide. Warren were dangerous at the other end coming up to half time hitting the bar with a great lofted effort from distance. At Halftime the teams were locked at 0-0.

With 15 minutes to play Riada won a corner, Chestnutt took and in came the impressive Conor Gillen to power a header past the keeper and into the net. Gillen then went close to doubling Riada’s lead with a great turn and shot going narrowly wide.
With 5 minutes to play Warren equalised, the winger coming inside from the right and firing a shot in at the near post to beat MCGaughey in the Riada net. Final score 1-1.
The first period of extra time was a dull affair, very little happening at either end. In the second period of extra time Warren YM began to create a few chances, a great save by McGaughey and the woodwork denying them a winner.

Riada FC were obviously disappointed not to progress in the competition, however they still have the Irish Junior Cup on the 17th October when they play Gilford. Riada would like to thank Warren YM for their great hospitality after the game and wish them all the best in the next round.
Next week Riada FC are back in league action when they entertain Coleraine Crusaders at Megaw Park.
