Fantastic response to Charity Golf Classic

MICKEY Harte and James McGarrity are delighted with the response to date with 20 4-Balls already entered for their inaugural Charity Golf Classic, this Friday 28 May at Ballycastle Links Golf Course.

Local people and businesses have really got behind the event to help ensure a great day for all those involved in making this a top fundraiser in aid of multiple sclerosis charity, Action MS.

Mickey Harte, patron of Action MS, has given of his time for some 28 years.

Mickey believes strongly in the work which Action MS carries out in Northern Ireland.

Joining Mickey Harte and James McGarrity will be local sporting and business figures. The Golf Classic will get off to a hearty start with a bacon butty and tea/coffee on arrival followed by a delicious meal in the Clubhouse after the day’s play.

The 4- Ball competition will be played on one of Ireland’s most beautiful courses will raise vital funds to support the work of Action MS in its delivery of services to the MS population in Northern Ireland. All Action MS services are offered free of charge to anyone who has MS in Northern Ireland.

Mickey and James invite you to get involved and enter a four-Ball team for 150.

Action MS Patron Mickey Harte said he was delighted at the response from local golfers:

“All money raised on the day will stay in Northern Ireland to support this hard-working local charity. The weather forecast is very promising, the food will be good and the company excellent so all in all it will be a great day out and I hope a top fundraiser for Action MS.”

James said: “I would like to thank all the local businesses that have sponsored a hole or donated prizes.

“There are twenty teams signed up to come along to Ballycastle and I am sure they will get a warm welcome and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and great welcome of the people here.”

Action MS Chief Executive Ann Walker MBE said: “This is a first ever Charity Golf Classic in Ballycastle for Action MS.

“Thanks to the generous Northern Ireland public I have had the pleasure of watching Action MS grow from a listening ear service some 35 years ago to offer the extensive range of services delivered to the MS population today, the most recent services being the free legal support and work with children.”
