Father and son team finish 11th
LAST weekend Springwell’s Colin and Oisin Brennan took part in the 35th Saunders Lakeland Mountain Marathon.
The father/son team went in the Harter Fell Class for a team of two with one under 18 years of age.The race started below Black Combe in the far south west corner of the Lake District competitors headed north onto Corney, Ulpha and Birker Fells. On the Sunday the courses climbed back out onto the open fells before a fast run back down south to the finish. The Brennan’s finished day one in 13th position completing the 18.8K course in 4:00:17. On day two they completed the 15.9K course in 3:08:45 finishing in ninth place. This moved them up to 11th position overall.
