Favourable conditions for Bann Valley race

THE third round of Bann Valley's AWT Refrigeration-sponsored ten mile time trial league took place last week.

Conditions were slightly more favourable than the previous round with a brisk tailwind on the longer outleg allowing the testers to get well warmed up before the inevitable return journey back into the wind.

Long spells of 25 to 30mph on the way out were replaced by a struggle to maintain speeds in the high teens on the return.

David Barton (ETCC) managed the conditions well to take the win in a time of 23 minutes 16 seconds. Martin Tohill (Spires CC) had a fine run to take second place in 23.42 with Bann Valley's John McElderry showing good form taking a fine third place with a time of 23.52.
