Fifth-place finish for Keane at Ballymoney Duathlon event

Four members from Larne Athletic Club made the trip to Belfast at the weekend for the Decathlon 10k race which was supported by over 200 runners.

Brian Heron was first over the line for the club with a time of 38:43 in 19th place.

It was also the first race for the club for Tommy Linton who ran a super time of 45:48 to finish in 76th place.

Eddie Finn participated in the East Antrim Marathon Series Halloween Charity race on Sunday (November 2). All proceeds went to the Danielle McGriskin Fund and competitors were required to wear fancy dress.

The race started at the Greenisland Golf Club and involved four loops of a tough course which finished with a one-mile climb up Station Road.

Eddie had a great run, finishing in 04:25, taking over 30 off his previous best time.

Also on Sunday four Larne AC members took part in the Ballymoney Autumn Duathlon.

Out of a field of 55 competitors, Martan Keane finished in fifth place overall in a time of 49.59.

Stephen Montgomery crossed the line in 11th place in a time of 52.13, followed closely by Gabriel Rodgers, who took 12th in a time of 52.18.

Ian McCluggagefinished in 17th after a superb run, clocking a time of 54.56.

Well done to all who participated and congratulations to Ballymoney Cycling Club for hosting yet another very well-organised event.

Six members represented the club at last week’s Dublin Marathon.

Thomas Craig achieved a marathon personal best, taking over six minutes off his previous record time.
