Fine display in front of home support

SLANE Seconds entertained Ambassadors at home last week and put in a fine display in front of a large crowd of Slane supporters up the line.

Slane had chances to score with Scott, Ervine and Hamilton all coming close and Gary Hanna made the keeper save well but the half ended all square at the break.

Slane came out strong in the second half and Ervine hit a sweet shot that sailed over the keeper who had made some great saves but was not getting a hand to this one for the opening goal. McCann also came close and so did Gamble.

Slane were rewarded for their hard work when the ball was swung into the box, it was deflected by the defender into his own net for Slane’s second goal of the game.

The visitors were dangerous on the break but found Fry in good form and he pulled of a few good saves to keep Slane in front.

Good result for the Reserves who have been doing well this season in the league and best on the night was Mark Ervine in midfield.
